Abstract
The regulation and control method includes safety monitoring of heating systems esp. those using a fuel gas passing over a heated catalyst bed. The control is electronic and opens the gas supply only when the catalytic bed has reached the right temperature and prevents it from overheating before the supply is turned on. The circuit has a normal AC supply, e.g. 220V at 50Hz, full-wave regulated and is protected by a thermistor. The detector is a thermistor (4) mounted on the catalytic bed, as part of a potentiometer across the supply and feeds an operational amplifier (OP2) which controls the bed heating supply via a relay (A). The delay unit to the oxygen supply regulates the base of a unijunction transistor and the energising of the valve relay (B).
