Abstract

The floor to col. metallic connector forms an elastic joint reducing moments but offering resistance to vertical shear. It has a rough bottom faced col. bearing plate in steel and a collar cast into the deck slab. The plate and collar are welded together top and bottom. The bearing plate (4) has the same section as the col. but is twice as thick as the deck slab, the collar (2) has rounded corners (10) and enlarged areas (13) defined by stiffeners (14) to take the holes (12) for housing the anchorages.
