Abstract

Granulometric analyser for particles contained in fluids comprises a feeding channel communicating with a receiving channel via a nozzle. The ratio between the dia. of the nozzle and the receiving channel is 1:4-7. The receiving channel includes transparent windows through which light is directed from a source. Light reflected by the particles is received by a light-sensitive device via. a separate window, so that the reflected light passes through the nozzle to the device. The analysis of both individual samples and constant fluid flows can be achieved without providing a liq. envelope around the fluid. Used esp. for analysis of impurities in fuels and lubricants.
