Abstract

A diagraphy appts. for determining the parameters of geological formations situated near a bore-hole incorporates means of generating an alternating electromagnetic field in the bore-hole at a frequency between 2 and 4 MHz and means of detection responding to the total electromagnetic field generated, comprising receptor coils arranged to produce a first, a second, and a third pair situated at successively greater longitudinal distances from the means of generation. Means of generating signals are connected to the means of detection to create a first, a second and a third signal, representative respectively of the phase differences in the field at the two coils of the first, second and third pair of coils. These signals contain information concerning the electromagnetic characteristics of the geological formations.
