Abstract

The lightweight structural system utilises perpendicularly connected members e.g. posts and rails of a composite interlocking sheet metal construction. Primary members are of a hollow triangular form, each comprising two folded sheets which slide together in the axial sense to be locked together by clips in slots. A soft sheet, in the case of a rail, is uniformly wide with equal upturned edge flanges subtending some 45 deg., the cover plate having an inverted right angled 'V' section. Cranked clips through rectangular openings in the cover plate may secure the assembly, and soffit sheet flanges are cranked in at right angled member corners to accommodate other connectors.
