Abstract

The composite cylinder has a central axle which is fitted at the ends with the necessary usual fittings. The axle is covered with a layer of soft foam rubber which absorbs the impact noise from the type. The rubber is covered with a thin layer of spring steel to give the cylinder surface in the necessary rigidity. The final outer covering is of plastic or neoprene rubber. The cylinder construction may be used on any application to reduce impact noise.
