Abstract

The preparation is for thermopile elements and their assembly into an overall unit. The individual elements (H) are thin sectioned rectangular leaves built into a stack, each isolated from its neighbour by an insulating foil, cut, such that spaces are left for conductors to be brought out. The spacing breaks are laid alternately in order to accommodate the alternate polarity connections. Each stack is soaked in conducting liquid which solidifies in the channels forming PN junctions (K). Stacks are assembled together such that alternate polarity elements are adjacent to each other and sepd. by insulating spacers.
