Abstract

The thermometer is for taking babies' temps. and has the bulb at the end protected by a flexible plastics teat(s). The main calibrated shaft of the thermometer is enclosed in a protective sheath (9). An annular flange (6) is screwed on to the protector to prevent the child from swallowing the shaft while the teat stops him from biting the bulb. The distal end of the tube is closed off by an elastic stopper. The thermometer can be dismantled and individual sections replaced selectively.
