Abstract

The demountable rectangular grid of glazing bars is used to provide a subdivided Georgian window aspect, being fabricated from nominally flexible rectangular hollow section members (5) in plastics. The grid is without edge framing, the bars resting on the glazing once installed, and the bar ends being mechanically connected to the window frame (1, 2). Internal connections may include the housing of open bar ends onto projecting studs (4), external connections using bar end flap tenons entering frame slots. The frame may have edge bevels (3) to a glazing groove, the bevel width equalling the thickness of the back wall (5') of a glazing bar.
