Abstract

The manufacturing process is for making bowls called 'strong' which are assembled from one hard cheek (1) and one soft cheek (6), held together by a steel ring (10). Each cheek is made in plastic material, such as nylon, and has a hole through its centre (2). At the bottom and top of each cheek there is a hollow (5, 9) in which the ring is forced, its corners (10a) fitting into the hollows. The cheeks are centered by a tube (11) which is fitted into the centre hole and bonded in place at one extremity (8) while the other (4) can slide.
