Abstract

An inverted 'L' section bar (4) is incorporated in a machine for folding large sheet metal pieces (2), pivoting about a horizontal axis (F) through the end of its shorter horizontal flange (40), and acting with a counter plate (3) which secured the piece on a table (1). Two articulating assemblies at intervals control bar movement, each comprising prim and sec lift and rock mechanisms. Each mechanism uses a rocking lever (11, 30) mounted between two fixed plates (9), the connections being made by an upper (16) and a lower (15) axle pin entering linear (17) and semi-eliptic (19) plate slots respectively. A third overhead axle pin (25 or 39) supports a pivot block (23 or 40) between each rocking arm face and the plates.
