Abstract
The discal lumbago therapy process consists in mechanically increasing the concavity of the lumbar curve of the patient. This forces adjacent vertebrae apart and allows the cartilage disc to return to its normal position. At the same time he or she has an electric current applied to the tender area to relieve the pain. The apparatus comprises a cushion of variable volume with a cylindrical portion bearing against the lumbar curve, and also equipped with two electrodes placed against the opposite sides of the spinal column. Alternatively it can have a single central electrode, while a second electrode is free to be placed against another part of the body.
