Abstract

The extruded-plastics fuel reservoir for a throw away gas fuelled lighter has two cylindrical bores (22a, 22b) separated by a central partition (23). It is closed by the mounting block (40) for the ignition mechanism at one end and by a base cap (30) at the other. Both end pieces are spigoted to be a tight fit in the bores and are sealed gastightly by ultrasonic welding. The base cap embodies a recess (31) connecting the two bores, the block a drilling (43) for a wick (44). The reservoir material is pref. translucent.
