Abstract

The unit is used to regulate the temp. of a patient's skin and employes the Peltier effect to produce heat or cold, depending on the direction of an applied current. The unit (16) is assembled in a housing (17) with one face contacting a brass plate (19) carrying fluid with a coil (18) evacuates heator cold caused by the unequal temps. The other face (14) of each Peltier unit is opposite a ridged aluminium plate (15), its opposing side being in contact with the air flow from a fan (11, 12) this assembly similarly balances any unequal temp. effects.
