Abstract

For automatic control systems which utilise control and power networks the cost is reduced by transmitting control signals on the electrical supply cables. a transmitter unit comprising small box receives signals from a thermostat control element to provide a demand signal. The transmission circuit is connected to the mains supply cables onto which the demand signal information is injected in all or nothing or modulated form. The information is received by a unit tuned to the same wavelength via isolating network. The receiver operates control and relay circuits to fulfill demand signal requirements.
