Abstract

A greenhouse or cloche has a frame covered by plastic sheets which normally overlap at their edges. The edges of the sheets are fastened by clips to endless cables which pass around pulleys. One pulley is mounted on the output shaft of a reduction gear box driven by an electric motor. Operation of the motor draws the edges of the sheets apart to allow controlled ventilation of the greenhouse. The motor may be at one edd of the greenhouse and a counterweight at the other end may be fitted to restore the sheets to closed positions.
