Abstract

The sleeve, which is normally grease filled, provides protection for the junction of two cables. The sleeve is fitted after the junction has been made and is demountable. The material used is moulded plastics, the overall shape allowing for increased volume in the junction area. The sleeve is open along one edge, the two mating surfaces (30) having a series of spaced holes (38) into which are forced studs (42) carried on a metal strip (22). Two such strips are required, a long one (22) for the obtuse angle side of the junction and a short one (24) for the acute angled side.
