Abstract

The highway kerb may be of extruded PVC or similar, is of an 'L' section, and is glued or fastened to the carriage-way surface. The horizontal and vertical legs subtend an angle of 80 deg., and the design is modified to provide for a tongue and groove type fixing. A continuous longitudinal tongue projects vertically from the underside of the horizontal leg, engaging a groove which is cut in the carriageway surface. The tongue may have an arrow head form with longitudinal indentations resisting withdrawal.
