Abstract
A process for surface quenching rotating workpieces comprises rotating the workpiece to be treated around its axis opposite to at least one linear inductor located at the workpiece periphery, the inductor extending substantially along the length of the quenching zone. The invention enables the depth of the quenched zone to be controlled while ensuring that neighbouring zones are unaffected even if these zones are located between two parts having greater diameters than that of the zone.
