Abstract

The system automatically sorts for dimensions and quality homogeneous and heterogeneous items of cork, rubber, plastic, wood agglomerates etc. It uses a network of diodes in a camera, a lens focussing the image accurately on them. It can be used for cork washers, stoppers of ordinary or filled cork, champagne corks, and joints for jamjars etc. A powerfull light can be used, sweeping over the item asothis is rotated, so as to make an impression on a series of diodes. The surface of the item is explored, and faults are graded by numbers according to their depth.
