Abstract
The bicycle has an electrically assisted drive. When the bicycle speed exceeds a certain value the electrical unit acts as a generator and charges the battery. When the speed is lower than this value, the electrical unit acts as a motor. There is a reversing switch, controlled by a current direction sensor in the machine/battery circuit. The machine can be self or compound excited, and without reverser switch.
