Abstract

A temporary fairing for mounting on the front of a caravan comprises a prismatic screen of rubber or plastic tarpaulin supported by a pole mounted on the towing bracket and having two horizontal arms which extend to anchorage points on each side of the leading end of the van. The screen is fitted to increase the directional stability of the trailer and reduce its wind resistance, and hence the petrol consumption of the towing vehicles. The top and bottom ends of the fairing are left open. Specifically used are screens of 'nylon', opt. with clear plastic panels for vision through the caravan.
