Abstract

Individual loading elements (18) for the type bands (9) each have on one end a projection (22) engageable in the corresponding recessed, rectangular positioning roller (11) around which passes the type band (9). In this way the band is located firmly in position. The projection has a wedge or conical shape. The loading element is acted upon by a compression spring (16) attached to a pin (15) and supported at one end on a guide block and at the other on the corresponding loading element. The design enables band movement and type selection to be heard as a clicking action, thereby facilitating speedy action.
