Abstract

The material with a printed decorative pattern opt. covered by a clear vinyl coating, and where the surface may also be textured, has a completely actinically hardened top layer, free from plasticisers and solvents, which contains >=1 organic cpd. with >=2 photopolymerisable C=C gps. which is certain portions, aligned with corresp. regions of the printed patterns, has a differing appearance. The material may be used as a wall or table covering, for book covers, or for decorative containers. The process is esp. used to give a 2-tone gloss effect. The material retains its gloss, and is resistant to abrasion and soiling.
