Abstract
Screen printing ink for thick film printing comprises Ni as active material; a sealing glass as passive material and a temporary binder having rheological properties suitable screen printing. Specifically, the glass is of the 'short' type and comprises 25-40% ZnO, 15-40% B2O3, 5-20% SiO2, 0-5% Al2O3, 5-30% CaO+MgO and 0-10% Li2O. The permanent part pref. comprises 10-20 vol.% glass and 80-90 vol.% Ni. The ink after printing is fired in a neutral or slightly reducing atmosphere. Used in mfr. of thick film circuits for electronics. The coefft. of expansion can be adjusted within the compsn region between 45 and 100x10-7/degree C. The adherence between the ink and the substrate is preserved. High metal contents give high conductivity and low resistivity.
