Abstract

Pressure is measured accurately by having a scale whereby the pointer travels large distance for low pressure graduations and less distance for higher pressure graduations. The pressure to be measured is coupled by a threaded base (1) through which a tube (2) passes to form a hollow spiral (3). A pointer is attached to a shaft (9) with a spring returning it to zero. A toothed gear segment (10) is driven by a tail (12) coupled to a crank (15) to an attachment (17) at tube end. This gear drives the pointer. The spring (18) is anchored to an attachment at the end of the tube and provides tension for suitable expansion of scaling of lower pressure indications.
