Abstract
The thermo-electric battery is enclosed in a case and has a heat source, a heat absorber and a thermoelectric unit between the heat source and absorber. The heat source end of the unit forms an annular gap with the case. A heat conducting mass is provided at the heat absorbing end, and is mounted on the case. The thermoelectric unit is elastically suspended to protect it against shocks and accelerations. The battery has spring strips (35) not normally in contact with the heat source (12) or the thermoelectric unit (13), but limiting its movement in case of a shock or an acceleration.
