Abstract

The precast building block (1) has tongue (2) and groove (3) formations running along opposite vertical edges. The formations (2, 3) are part circular in section permitting adjacent blocks to be relatively angled in plan. The tongue (2) is segmental with the inclusive sector subtending an angle more than 180 deg. The groove (3) has the same radius and may subtend 90 deg. or arc. Both formations may be symmetrical about the blocks longitudinal plan centre line and may have 45 deg. chamfered shoulders (40, 41, 50, 51) extending to the edges of the major faces.
