Engin destiné à assurer l'inspection de constructions sous-marines. Il est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une coque intérieure résistant à la pression, combinée avec une coque extérieure non soumise à la pression en plongée, mais profilée à la manière d'une coque de vedette, des ballats étant ménagés dans le volume existant entre la coque intérieure et la coque extérieure. Combinant la fonction d'un sous-marin en plongée et celle d'une vedette en navigation de surface, il peut arriver rapidement en surface sur les lieux où il doit intervenir en plongée.
