Abstract

The welding heads are used alternatively, and are of known design; each head can be individually tilted on a horizontal pivot shaft so that automatic welding cycles can be used. Each of the two pivot shafts pref. carries an L-shaped arm or elbow (a) assembled from two cheeks joined at their top and bottom ends by a traverse, the bottom end being mounted on the pivot shaft. Each arm (a) is raised or lowered by the piston of a work cylinder located on a pivot mounting on the chassis of the plant. The plant has two work stations, each with a burner head; one station can be reloaded while the automatic welding cycle is being carried out via the other head, so productivity is increased.
