Abstract

Dispositif permettant d'absorber une partie de l'énergie cinétique lors d'un choc frontal. Il est principalement composé d'un cyclindre rempli d'huile très fluide qui, sous l'action d'un piston, doit s'échapper par des orifices variable. La résistance ainsi offerte permet d'amortir le mouvement du piston lié à un pare-choc. Conjugué à une carrosserie spécialement étudiée, il permet, à faible vitesse, d'éliminer toute déformation du véhicule. Il peut être installé à l'avant et à l'arrière de tout mobile subissant des chocs pouvant être préjudiciables.
