Abstract

On a loom for weaving double fabrics, the sepn. of the two fabrics is effected using a cutting device capable of cutting along a profile, to produce long pile on one fabric and short pile on the other. The profile may be altered during the coarse of cutting. In order to simulate natural fur, pile fabrics may be submitted to shearing to produce regions of shorter pile. By profiling the blade path, the tedious and expensive step of shearing is eliminated.
