Abstract

Elevator endless belt is composed of a number of layers including an upper layer and rubber having a Shore hardness A of 35 to 55 degrees (45 degrees) and subjacent layers formed of polyamide or polyester fabrics laminated on opposite sides with rubber layers having a greater Shore hardness of 60 to 80 degrees A, and the assembly of layers is fed into a vulcanising press through which the assembly is fed intermittently to form transverse ribs in the softer upper layer.
