Abstract

Two rolls of cotton wool (30, 32) are supported in the lower jaw on either side of teeth (38) by a holder having an upright guide rod with a plate (14) which is clamped under the chin. The upper end (12b) of the rod is bent over at a right angle and has two formed ends for supporting the cotton rolls. One limb is bent up (26) to pan over the front teeth. The chin plate is non-rotatably secured to the rod by virtue of the square cross-section of the rod. The holder is made of plastics material and the cotton rolls are secured by adhesive.
