Abstract

The solar energy collector comprises a parabolic mirror (12), at the focal point of which a boiler head (18) is mounted. The mirror tilts on a horizontal axis (13) on a frame (1), which in turn slews on a base about a vertical axis. A first pair of photoelectric cells (21, 22) are mounted on the collector on its vertical centre line at right angles to the axis by which it tilts on the frame, while a second pair (23) are mounted on its centre line passing through this axis, and a further cell (20) is mounted on the base, all so that they are never in the shadow of the collector. The cells are connected in the control circuits of actuators tilting and slewing the collector.
