Abstract

The loom with straight rods has a configuration which avoids or attenuates the limitations inherent to the Cotton type loom and which is capable of being developed. This knitting loom with straight bars has a knitting head in which the knitting equipment is mounted on bars (130), pivoted levers (86a, 86b) and connecting rods (146) directly or indirectly connecting together the moving bars (130) and the levers (86a, 86b) for imparting advancement or retraction or up and down movements to the members with the view of forming knitwear. The levers (86a, 86b) for a predominant number of movements of the knitting equipment are located in a longitudinal L-shaped zone. They are connected by connecting rods (146) directly or indirectly to a bar (130) or to respective moving bars in order to form the knitwear, in a zone diagonally opposite the region of the pivots of the levers (86a, 86b), in quadrangular configurations formed by the levers (86a, 86b) and the connecting rods (146).
