alpha-Cyanobenzyl 2-naphthaleneacetates of formula (I) are new: (where R1 is 1-4C alkyl; R2 is CN; R3 and R4 are halogen or Me m and n are 0-2; and Y is O S or CH2). (I) are insecticidal and acaricidal agents effective against harmful insects and acarina that are the vectors for diseases that plague man and animals and crops.
