Abstract

The central armrest is for the front seats of a motor vehicle not having a central support. It is of generally channel section, with the free edges (5, 6) of the flanges (3, 4) bent over and spaced apart for a distance slightly greater than that between the adjacent rails of the front seats. It is of material sufficiently elastic to allow the flanges to be brought closer together. The design allows the armrest to be simply sprung into a locked position between the seats, its edges fitting under the seat slide rails.
