Abstract

Compsns. for treating anxiety and neurodystonic states comprises a mixtl of an anxiolytic of the benzodiazepine series (I) and a beta-adrenergic receptor inhibitor (III). Esp. (I) is 3-N,N-dimethylcarbamoyloxy-1-methyl-5-phenyl-7-chloro-1,3-dihydro- -2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one (Ia) and (II) is 1-(O-methoxyphenyl)-3-isopropylaminopropan-2-ol (IIa), pref. used at ratio 1:2.5, e.g. 5-75 mg (I) and 10-100 mg (II). (I) and (II) have different, but synergistic, modes of action. Esp. (II) modifies peripheral response to catecholamine amine secretion partic. in the cardiovascular system.
