Abstract

The equipment to weigh the load of a hopper type lorry is mounted on the lorry and controlled independently of the tipping and handling hydraulic gear. An hydraulic feed circuit (15) is provided for lifting gear below the hopper. This determines the load as a function of the hydraulic pressure. The lifting is by hydraulic rams (14), each with a transducer joined to a signal circuit and scale (18) which indicates the weight directly. The transducers are pressure type giving an electrical output signal as a function of pressure.
