Abstract

The shelter for giving shade has a roof which comprises two parallel beams made of thermally insulating material and a row of solar energy collectors which are placed between and perpendicular to the beams and are carried by them. A pipe, through which a heat transfer of fluid circulates, is embedded in each beam. The solar collectors are connected in parallel between the pipes. The collectors can be turned about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the two beams to maintain the front faces perpendicular to the sun's rays. The shelter may be a pergola, a parking cover, a covered gallery, a porch roof or analogous construction.
