On exploite des signalisations de défauts et des donnés représentant ces signalisations sont inscrites dans une mémoire de configuration KSP comportant des cases de mémoire SPP associées à des dispositifs, puis le contenu de cette mémoire est évalué et, pour un certain nombre de signalisations correspondant à des lieux d'origine d'une zone fonctionnelle FB1,... FBm, le dispositif situé hiérarchiquement au-dessus de dispositifs 1P1, 1P2,... 1Pn de cette zone FB1 est enregistré comme défectueux et un dispositif d'évaluation délivre un signal de commande de localisation des défauts.
