Abstract

The TV UHF tuner self-oscillating mixer transistor (T) in common base configuration has its base (B) connected via a first capacitor (CB) to a source of reference voltage. A bias voltage (Ub) is applied to the base via a first strip conductor (Z1). The emitter (E) of the transistor is connected to one terminal of a source (e) of drive voltage, the other terminal of which is connected via a second strip lead (Z2) and a second capacitor (Ck) to the end of the first strip lead (Z1) remote from the base of the transistor. The dimensions of the leads (Z1, Z2) are such that together with the second capacitor (Ck) they form a series resonance circuit for the middle frequencies of the UHF band. The amplification is therefore linearised and the signal/noise is improved in the band 550-680 MHz.
