Abstract

Polyurethane foams are prepd. by reaction between a polyisocyanate, a polyol based on a polyhydroxylated polyether, and a porogenic agent. The polyl contains a minor proportion of a monhydroxyl deriv. the ratio (k) of the wt. of this deriv. to the total wt. of hydroxyl derivs. in the mixt. being 0.1 x 10-2 to 16 x 10-2. Polymethane foams prepd. in this way are more easily removed from moulds, esp. silane-based moulds, than previously known foams, so that considerably more moulded objects can be prod. from the same mould.
