Abstract

The roof of the car is fitted with two cross frames on which are hinged ski clamps. These have fixed bottom sections (12) which rest on the frames and which are curved at the outside ends to sit in the roof gutter. The top edges (25) of the clamps are hinged about a middle support (24) and clip over the gutter supports to be secured by locks. Flexible hollow blocks (14) are clamped in the clamps to hold the skis. The blocks form flexible lips between which the skis can be secured edge up or horizontal as required, in order to reduce wind noise. Ski sticks (B) can also be clamped in smaller holes in the blocks.
