Abstract

The apparatus for measuring blood pressure includes a support (1) fitting onto the patient's arm. The support (1) has a flexible band (2) which fixes it onto the arm. On the inside of the support is a circular bladder (5) connected to a flexible pipe (6) through which air is pumped to exert pressure on the patient's artery. The outer side of the support (1) has a central projection on which is a manometric device (11) connected to the bladder (5) by a duct (12). The surface of the support in contact with the patient's arm has a tab (1b) on which is a microphone for picking up the systolic sounds of the patient.
