Abstract

The slide-in printed circuit board assembly consists of a horizontal printed circuit board with parallel guide slots to hold a series of vertical boards. The horizontal board slides between guide slots forming part of a frame or housing. The lower edges of the vertical boards have contact pads distributed along them corresponding to contacts inside the lower guide slots. The side edges of the horizontal board also have contact pads that likewise touch contacts in the frame's lateral guide slots. The insertion force is zero. The frame's lateral guide slots are part of terminal strips with projecting pin contacts for external connections.
