Abstract
A stroboscopic viewer is used. In order to monitor a flashing light or periodic phenomena (A), an electronic aperture device (3) is operated by a pulse train from a control unit (1). The pulse train (S1) has a frequency which may be varied by use of a control (2). Upper energy levels of the pulse train render this aperture (3) light transmissive while lower energy levels render it opaque. This affords a strobing effect to a viewer (B) in a viewing angle (W) enabling frequency/phase determination of the phenomena.
