Abstract

L'invention concerne un nouveau polysaccharide, un procédé pour sa préparation et une composition hypocholestérolémiante le contenant. On prépare un nouveau polysaccharide appelé M-30-C présentant des propriétés physico-chimiques caractéristiques (en particulier le spectre d'absorption illustré) par culture d'une nouvelle souche appelée Pseudomonas polysaccharogenes M-30. Le polysaccharide de l'invention est particulièrement utile dans des compositions thérapeutiques hypocholestérolémiantes.The invention relates to a novel polysaccharide, a process for its preparation and a cholesterol-lowering composition containing it. A new polysaccharide called M-30-C having characteristic physicochemical properties (in particular the illustrated absorption spectrum) is prepared by culturing a new strain called Pseudomonas polysaccharogenes M-30. The polysaccharide of the invention is particularly useful in cholesterol-lowering therapeutic compositions.
