Abstract

La présente invention concerne la fabrication des fibres optiques à angle d'acceptance important. Selon l'invention, il est possible de réaliser des fibres optiques 14 dont les indices de réfraction du coeur Il et de la gaine 12 sont respectivement le plus élevé et le plus faible possible tout en conservant des caractéristiques thermiques compatibles. Le coeur 11 en verre est à forte teneur d'oxyde de germanium et ne nécessite plus une couche de silice pour offrir des propriétés de guidage optique tandis que la gaine 12 est réalisée en résine silicone autorisant ainsi une grande différence de dopage avec le coeur sans présenter les inconvénients mécaniques dorigine thermique rencontrés précédemment. L'invention trouve son application dans le domaine des télécommunications.
